Introducing the Olah x Hakhu Ancestral Beaded Veil — Huayruro Flame, a striking handcrafted piece inspired by the sacred huayruro seed, long regarded in Amazonian culture as a symbol of protection, strength, and good fortune. Created in collaboration with Hakhu, the veil honors Indigenous craftsmanship and ancestral storytelling through intricate artisanal beadwork.
Handwoven with cascading black netting and vibrant red huayruro-inspired beads, each veil is individually crafted by Indigenous women artisans from Kichwa communities across the Ecuadorian Amazon, celebrating the artistry and individuality of handmade techniques. Designed as a bold statement accessory, the veil drapes fluidly over the head and shoulders, blending ancestral craftsmanship with contemporary elegance.
Each piece is made to order and thoughtfully handcrafted. Please allow approximately 3 weeks for production.

About Hakhu:
Hahku, which means let’s go in Kichwa, is an organization that is dedicated to promoting sustainable development projects in league with small indigenous communities within the Ecuadorian Amazon.
The Hahku Project was formed by community leaders and Leo Cerda,an environmental activist and member of the Kichwa Nation, as a way to provide income for people inthese areas that are hard hit by oil exploitation. Hahku’s goal is to create sustainable sources of income for indigenous people from the Amazon region so we can have an alternative to the extractive and destructive industries of oil, mining, lumber, and beef. The first project to be undertaken is Hahku Amazon Design.
